Watercolour festival Iceland
Aurora – The Icelandic Watercolour Festival is an international festival taking place in Akureyri from 10–14 September 2026. In connection with the festival, an exhibition will be presented at the Akureyri Art Museum from 10–27 September.
World-renowned watercolour artists, alongside outstanding Icelandic painters, are invited to take part in the festival. Artists from around the world are expected to gather in Akureyri to participate in and enjoy a diverse program of events.
Watercolour painters from around the world are invited to participate in the exhibition at the Akureyri Art Museum. Submitted works will be selected by a jury, and the exhibition will run from 10–27 September. During the festival, from 10–14 September, the program includes workshops, courses, live demonstrations, and presentations by watercolour-related brands.
The festival is organized in collaboration with the Akureyri Art Museum and the Icelandic Watercolour Society.
